The Safer Future promise

At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to strengthening your resilience in ways that are comprehensive and human-centred, equipping you with wide range of capacities to face disruption and uncertainty with clarity and confidence.

Our guiding principle “Stillness in Action” refers to remaining calm, focused, and grounded while actively engaging in dynamic or high-pressure situations. It is also about cultivating the ability to live well in today’s age of polycrisis.

As a for-purpose enterprise, Safer Future services are crafted to not only improve your practical crisis and disaster resilience but also to instil a deep sense of connection and grounding. As you work with us, you'll find yourself and the people around you transitioning from apprehensive to informed, from isolated to connected, and from anxious to serene. By the end of your journey with us, you will not only be exceptionally prepared but will also carry a profound sense of peace and assurance, ready to face any challenge with clarity and confidence.

Join us, and invest in your peace of mind.

Meet our founder and CEO - Dr Jean Renouf

Jean is the founder of Safer Future, bringing together more than two decades of international experience in disaster resilience and emergency management with a deep commitment to human well-being. His work integrates external preparedness with inner calm, ensuring resilience is comprehensive.

Through his work in war zones and disaster settings worldwide, Jean recognised that true resilience requires not only skills and plans, but also the inner calm to carry them through. With climate risks becoming every day more real, there’s a dire need to help people and organisations prepare, practically, socially and psychologically. It was this revelation that catalysed the creation of Safer Future.

His philosophy emphasizes the synergy between action and contemplation, teaching that a deep-seated inner stillness can exponentially magnify the effectiveness of practical preparations and strategies — an approach that has influenced both communities and thought leaders. Professor Clive Hamilton noted in his book Living Hot: Surviving and Thriving on a Heating Planet (2024), “as adaptation expert Jean Renouf observed, Australians can learn to live well on a warming planet.”

Jean's influence doesn't stop at Safer Future. He is the founder and chairman of Plan C, a not-for-profit registered charity that strengthens community resilience, a firefighter, and a sought-after speaker and author, renowned for his ability to weave data, experience, and compassion into narratives that inspire action. His leadership reflects a simple but powerful belief: that holistic resilience — practical, social, and emotional — is the key to thriving in an age of complexity and polycrisis.
